Accuracy of our tools
We work hard to keep each university's grading rules accurate and up to date, and we verify them against official sources wherever possible. However, grading policies can change and may be applied differently in individual cases, so we cannot guarantee that every result is 100% accurate. Always confirm your official GPA, marks, and degree classification with your university's records office or your official transcript before relying on them for any important decision (such as applications, scholarships, or graduation).
Scanning your results (📷 Scan results)
The scan button reads a screenshot of your results and fills in the calculator for you. It was added to save you typing - not to replace checking your own results. Treat whatever it produces as a first draft that you confirm, the same way you would proofread something typed for you.
It can be wrong. It reads letters from an image, and it can misread a grade, miss a row, or pick up the wrong column - especially on a photo that is faded, blurry, dark, or taken at an angle. Always check every row against your actual results before you rely on the answer. If a grade looks wrong, edit it; you can change or delete any row after scanning.
Before you upload
- Do not include your name, student ID, or National Registration Card number. Crop the picture down to just the table of courses and grades. We do not need to know who you are to work out a GPA, and cropping usually makes the reading more accurate too.
- Do not upload faded, blurry or dark pictures. A clear screenshot taken directly on your phone reads far better than a photograph of a screen or of a printed page.
- Make sure the whole table is visible, including the grade column on the right.
Two things to check especially
- Credits. Most results pages do not print credit weights at all, so we work them out from the course code. That is a general rule and it will not fit every course - check the credit on each row and change it if it is wrong.
- Your classification. Universities usually count only certain years towards a final classification (often third and fourth year only). If you scan a single year's results, the points may be right while the class shown is not meaningful. See the How It Works tab on your university's page for the rule that applies to you.
What happens to your picture
To read the image we send it to Google's Gemini service, which processes it and returns the text. We do not keep your screenshot - it is not saved on our servers after the scan. We only record that a scan happened, so we can apply the limits on each pass. Google handles the image under its own terms; if you would rather it never leaves your phone, simply do not use the scan button.
Using this feature is entirely your choice. Every calculator works perfectly well by typing your grades in by hand, and nothing is withheld from you if you prefer to do that. If you are not comfortable uploading a picture of your results, that is completely your right - please do not use it.
There are limits on how many scans each pass allows, and a short wait between scans. That is not to inconvenience you - it keeps the service working for every student sharing it.
